100% Pure haul: make up and skincare reviews
Hello there! So, I'm trying to use more natural make up and skincare because it is better for me. I know it. And I'm tryin'. One brand I came across recently is 100% Pure. The brand is from California and, therefore, cool. Their products are 100% free of artificial colors, artificial fragrances, synthetic chemical preservatives and all other toxins. Hell yeah!!
I tried out some stuff and this is what I think:
I basically use the tint as a lip product. Actually I haven't even tried it as a cheek tint. I find it quite nourishing for my lips, so I'm not sure whether it would stay on well on my cheeks. (Yeah, maybe I should have tried it out before I write a review, duh.)
The finish is quite sheer, as you would expect from a tint:
I absolutely love the color! Actually the name "Sugar Plum" might be a little deceiving, as you would normally expect some purple tones, but I would rather describe the color as a orangey red. Although, yeah, it might have a slight purple undertone to it. The swatch is quite accurate.
The only downside for me is the packaging. Every time I twist the lip tint down, the whole lower part comes off. I don't know whether this is just my product or whether this is a general packaging problem. But it is kinda annoying.
Other than that, great lip tint/lip balm.
This primer is incredible!! It leaves my skin super silky. Like suuuper silky. A finish you would normally expect form silicon-based products. But this primer is 100% natural and the main ingredient is organic aloe juice. It is full of good stuff. I don't wear so much foundation as to be able to tell whether the primer improved the foundation staying power considerably, but it leaves my skin baby butt smooth all day. And I freakin' love it!
Little swatch for ya here:
I kinda expected a "Lip Glaze" to be sheer, but it is a very well pigmented creamy lipstick. Fair enough.
As it has a creamy texture, don't expect crazy staying power. Actually, don't expect crazy staying power from any natural make up product. You can only get that with synthetic ingredients - for now.
I took a smaller size of this cream on a recent 2-weeks vacation and used it daily. The packaging says the cream "aggressively reduces signs of aging". Ya, well. I do have some fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead, but, honestly, I don't expect any product to be able to "aggressively reduce signs of aging." And this one doesn't either. Maybe 2 weeks are too short to tell, but I would be surprised if I looked 15 again. Maybe I don't even want to. What really drew me to this product are the ingredients. I mean: super fruits! Hello?! Main ingredient is organic aloe juice. It absorbs nicely, hydrates well. I'm all for it.
